Projects
Projects of the Louisiana Regional Folklife Program at the University of New Orleans take many forms. The Regional Folklorist is consulted by individuals and groups wanting to document their art forms so they can be shared with family and community, or presented at festivals and in exhibits. Dr. Westbrook helps festivals, museums, and organizations to document cultural traditions and interpret them, utilizing a wide variety of means, for public presentation.
In addition, she documents traditional practices and public events, and publishes information about Louisiana culture(s) in various places including the program's website. The list below provides a representative sampling of projects. Check back regularly for new articles and more!
